To help the CLARISSA programme with its final phase, we are inviting a communications professional to work with us for the final three months of the programme to enable our evidence and findings to reach a global audience. This will involve developing communications related to research outputs and an immersive website and managing the production of a number of short films.
CLARISSA is a systemic action research programme generating innovative solutions for children to avoid hazardous, exploitative labour in Bangladesh and Nepal. CLARISSA is delivered by a consortium including the Institute for Development Studies (IDS), Terre des hommes, ChildHope and Consortium for Street Children. It is funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).
The consultancy is expected to last for up to 50 days (depending on rate) – within the period of January to March 2024. Application deadline is 8th January 2024.
Who should apply?
Individuals with:
- A proven professional record as a communications professional – ideally with some knowledge of child labour issues.
- Experience of managing the production of videos (working with production companies).
- At least ten years of experience as a communications professional.
- Proven track record of creative thinking around communications.
- Proven ability to reach a global audience with communications.

Outputs
- Plan and deliver a series of immersive events that will enable both generic and specialist global audiences to engage with the large amount of research and other outputs that CLARISSA has produced.
- Manage a video production company to produce two films / videos.
- Generate innovative ideas for end of programme communications and work with the current communications team to implement them.
