About the Country team
CLARISSA is being implemented in Myanmar by Terre des hommes Foundation (Tdh). We will focus on the fisheries and waste industries in Myanmar, two sectors identified as thematic areas of focus following consultation in-country. We will be working to understand children’s roles in these industries (and the supply chains that feed into them) using a ‘supply chain’ model.
The goal of this model is to link the hidden domains of supply chains with the formal domains of the sectors, allowing us to track hidden child labour and begin to generate solutions to it. The central innovation here is our focus on the informal domains of the supply chains and on small to medium-sized enterprises, where the majority of WFCL will be found.
The entry point for our work will be urban slums where there is a concentration of child labour and children working in worst forms of child labour. CLARISSA Myanmar will work in the township of Hlaing Thar Yar, on the Western Edge of Yangon.
The CLARISSA programme team in Myanmar is led by Moe Hnin Phyu Myint Lwin (Snow).
